Alex and Eloise Windebank are the husband and wife team behind Farro.
They met whilst working in London restaurants and relocated to South Africa before opening Farro in 2018. Originally in Johannesburg, the restaurant found critical acclaim, however did not survive the initial Covid lockdowns. A series of pop ups in Joburg and Cape Town followed, and the couple re-opened Farro on the picturesque wine Estate, Gabrielskloof, located in The Overberg.
Farro grew out of a joint love of eating, drinking and 30 years of restaurant experience between them.
The food focus at Farro is to showcase a seasonally led, constantly evolving menu. It is about embracing simplicity in dining. Comforts and classics are at the heart of everything that is served.
