JUST MAKE IT DELICIOUS

Farro will reopen in Gardens on 10th October 2025. The new restaurant will be housed in a tiny Victorian terraced home, with a cocktail bar, an open kitchen and 2 upstairs dining rooms with a view of Table Mountain. Harking back to the intimacy of the original Farro, it will be an intimate 26 seater dinner time restaurant. â€‹â€‹

The food focus at Farro is to showcase a seasonally led, 5 Course Chef's Menu. It is about embracing simplicity and flavour. In the words of Alex, "Just make it delicious."

The wines are delicious, local and mostly made on a smaller scale. The cocktail are proper, served simply and with care, in beautiful glassware. Soft drinks are homemade and you'll never find an out of season blueberry garnishing a G&T here.

Alex and Eloise Windebank are the husband and wife team behind Farro; which grew out of a joint love of eating, drinking and 30+ years of restaurant experience between them.

​They met whilst working in London restaurants and relocated to South Africa before opening Farro in 2018. Originally in Johannesburg, the restaurant found critical acclaim, however did not survive the initial Covid lockdowns. A series of pop ups in Joburg and Cape Town followed, and the couple re-opened Farro on the picturesque wine Estate, Gabrielskloof, located in The Overberg. After 3 picturesque years on the estate, Farro has relocated back to Cape Town, for the next chapter in it's storied journey.
